Story :

Since 2020 (During COVID 19 Pandemic), after pursuing my Higher education in Science (P.C.M.B), I decided to pursue a profession in IT because I have always been enthusiastic about technology and computer-related things.

Perhaps After spending 2.3 years learning HTML, CSS, JS (for frontend), PHP, and MYSQL (for backend), I decided to start freelancing at the beginning of the web development industry. Yes, you guessed it—without knowing a specific framework like an idiot. I began my career by accepting incredibly modest clients, most of whom were senior college students who needed help maintaining and upgrading their final year online projects. Therefore, I was selected without hesitation, and that is how my freelance career got started.

After a couple of months of Freelancing I have updated myself to various frameworks and client structure shifted from students to small scale businesses.

Context :

It hurts when you're getting interviewed by a person who has no experience in web development and sets up his/her expectations regarding social media without getting deep down in it.

While hiring a freelance web developer for a small-scale business, clients often have specific expectations tailored to their budget, needs, and goals, etc and can sometimes lead to misconceptions.

M I S C O N C E P T I O N S

1. All Web Developers Are Designers :

It's a common misconception that web developers are also designers. While some developers have design skills that rely on programming methods like CSS , SASS , BOOTSTRAP, etc, these are separate disciplines. Designers focus on aesthetics and user experience using technologies like FIGMAA, ADOBE INDESIGN, PHOTOSHOP FOR GRAPHICS while developers primarily handle the technical aspects of building and maintaining objects and elements of websites.

2. Quality Work :

Clients expect the final product to be of high quality in a low budget, free from technical issues, and responsive across different devices and browsers. They want a website that looks and functions well.

3. Making a study on Social Media :

Even though a lot of people don't have the ability to research well on the internet and even as we know everything on the internet is not real. Due to budget issues Most People Search for the cheapest way for hiring a Web Developer or developing a website .

The phrase "Developing a website isn't hard, just install WordPress plugins and then begin, we are hiring you because we don't have time to build one" is one I frequently heard from clients when I was freelancing. Without the correct understanding, users can reveal their data without knowing that some purchased plugins often require maintenance which are unreliable and need daily upgrades. Even adding too many images and designs on site may increase loading time of site and bounce rate among clients.

4 . Websites Are Set-and-Forget :

Some believe that once a website is live, it doesn't require further attention. In reality, websites need ongoing maintenance, updates, and security enhancements to ensure they remain functional and secure.

5. Web Development Is Easy :

People often underestimate the complexity of web development. Building a website can be intricate, requiring knowledge of various programming languages, frameworks, and tools.

6. Website Builder :

Some clients believe that building a website shouldn't require writing a single line of code because we can use AI technologies, Wordpress, or Wix templates instead. For a clear responsiveness, which in my opinion is fairly accurate, but it occasionally does require some modifications, and the templates need to be carefully checked because they may need updates due to older versions of packages and tools, and as per WordPress and Wix templates, the occurrence of weak plugins could give developers a high chance of building a security and modifications for a website.

7. Once a web is online, automatically it will attract customers.

Many have made the mistaken assumption that once a website is live, consumers will start to flow in on their own. Do you believe that simply launching a website online would bring in customers?

To increase your online visibility in the search engines, you must put in effort. It's important to focus on elements like SEO, sponsored advertisements, and guest articles, and it will take time for your website to gain visitors. In order to achieve successful outcomes, ....

8. AI can replace Web Developers :

With the rapid advancements in AI and machine learning, some clients may believe that AI can completely replace human web developers. While AI can assist with certain tasks, it lacks the creativity, problem-solving skills, and adaptability that human developers bring to the table.

As a developer, I have personally experienced the challenges of debugging code while developing each element/components at a time....!

Even if any AI has adapt capability of making components and debugging programs itself there is still a catch that every programmer has to take care of, like the logic building, flow of program and the end result that client wants. No matter how advanced AI gets, it still lacks the human touch and the ability to understand complex human emotions and requirements. AI can assist with repetitive tasks and data analysis, but it cannot replace the creativity and problem-solving skills of a human developer. So, in my opinion, AI can never replace a human developer.

In conclusion, clients often have misconceptions about web development that can lead to unrealistic expectations and misunderstandings. As a web developer, it's important to educate clients about the realities of web development and set clear expectations from the beginning of a project. By addressing these misconceptions, developers can build stronger relationships with their clients and deliver successful projects that meet their needs and goals.

Finally, I would like to say that no matter how advanced AI gets, it still lacks the human touch and the ability to understand complex human emotions and requirements. AI can assist with repetitive tasks and data analysis, but it cannot replace the creativity and problem-solving skills of a human developer. So, in my opinion, AI can never replace a human developer.
